Within the framework of the Emilia-Romagna Region PR-FESR 2021-2027 research project, named ALLIANCE, the TekneHub laboratory of the University of Ferrara has developed and engineered a building systems solution for civil air conditioning, consisting of thermal-photovoltaic (PV/T) panels installed on ventilated facades.

The solution makes it possible to enhance the building’s vertical surfaces for the exploitation of renewable energy. The first prototype has been installed at the TekneHub laboratory: a mock-up of an active ventilated facade equipped with four PV/T panels, integrated into an experimental multi-source heat pump system derived from the European project IDEAS (HORIZON 2020 – GA 815271), which demonstrated an increase in electrical energy production of up to 10%.”
